He then decided to sell fruit at a bus stop in his town. He does this activity now and it generates the resources he needs to support his family. Today he is asking for a loan to stock up on fruit and do some repairs on his work car. His biggest wish is to improve his family's quality of life and offer them a better future.

Ramiro de 65 años es un hombre al que la vida le ha enseñado que lo más importante no es acumular riquezas si no disfrutar el amor y la compañía de su familia. Trabajó toda su vida en las fuerzas armadas de Colombia y en varias ocasiones estuvo a punto de perder su vida, por lo cual aprendió el valor que tiene su familia. Después de retirarse de la Armada, decidió dedicarse a la comercialización de ropa en diferentes municipios del departamento de Antioquia, Colombia, pero los grupos subversivos le prohibieron la actividad por considerarlo un espía, por lo cual se dedicó a la venta de fruta en un paradero de buses de su localidad. Actividad que desempeña en la actualidad y le genera los recursos necesarios para la subsistencia de su familia. Hoy se encuentra solicitando un crédito con el objeto de comprar surtido (frutas) y realizar algunas reparaciones a su carro de trabajo. Su mayor deseo es mejorar la calidad de vida de su familia y brindarle un mejor porvenir.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
