Fernando is married and has 6 children, 3 of whom attend school. He owns the home where he lives and he does not support anyone else. He works for himself as a photographer. With this loan he plans to purchase construction materials (iron, cement, sand, stones, etc.) to continue construction of a wall around his home. In the future he would like to finish construction on the wall and build an aviary and commercial shop. For this reason, he promises to pay back his loan on time in order to request additional loans from Hluvuku. The challenge he faces is a lack of funds to complete all of his projects.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
