Marilia's story

Marilia is 22 years old and his married to Rubén, who is 30. Together they have a 2-year-old daughter. They own an adobe home that was built shortly after they were married.

Marilia has a business selling groceries. After the first few months, she noticed that it was very profitable, and this was the perfect excuse to expand her business into a comfortable and more spacious room on the first floor of her home.

The main difficulty in the course of her normal work is the transportation of her merchandise from the city center to her home. The local roads are not well-maintained, which has led to increases in the cost of transportation on more than one occasion.

She hopes to continue growing her business considerably and at the same time hopes to achieve one of her main goals, which is to build a home of concrete and bricks.

This is her first loan with Kiva. She is very confident that she will be able to complete her repayments in a punctual manner. She is currently seeking a loan of 2,000 nuevos soles in order to stock her business with carbonated beverages, cookies, rice, sugar, milk and cereal, since these are the items which in most in demand from her neighbors.
