A loan of $400 helped purchase organic fertilizer.

Isabel's story

Isabel is 22 years old, single and lives with her parents in the house where she was born. Isabel began working in agriculture at an early age when she started helping her parents, but now she has been given her own land by her parents, where she grows green beans and broad beans. She has been working in agriculture for two years on her own now.
What she grows, she sells, in the main market of her area that is about 40 minutes from her house. Her customers are primarily other sellers, but with smaller businesses, and so as soon as she puts her goods out in the market she is able to earn money quickly.
Isabel is a young woman who is not satisfied with just the status-quo and she saves money in order to start studying for a technical career, but she says that she will not forget her agricultural work because it is profitable to sell her products, even more so if she is able to sell larger quantities of her goods. This is the second time that Isabel is asking for a credit with Kiva and so she is use to being responsible for making her repayments on time. Isabel will invest her money in purchasing organic fertilizer to nourish her fields.
