A loan of $300 helped to buy beehives to produce honey.

Ezekiel's story

Ezekiel lives and farms in Kwale county. Kwale county is located on the Kenyan coast, and is the southernmost Kenyan county. Though some of the towns along the beach see benefits from tourism, the majority of people living inland are farmers, and the region's inconsistent rains can make life difficult. Beekeeping is a relatively new activity in the area, but many farmers here are enthusiastic at the prospect of owning their own hives and gathering additional income from the sale of their honey.

Ezekiel is married, and has three children. He has been farming for 21 years, and is currently growing oranges. He is excited to work with Honey Care Africa because their hives are well made and their hive technicians give great service. He also likes beekeeping because he enjoys eating honey. With the extra income generated from his hives Ezekiel hopes to build a new house.
