Balqees's story

Ms. Balqees is a 47-year-old married woman and a mother of one child. She decided to work with her husband to support her family for a better future. Two years ago she began stitching work in her house. She sews for the people living around her house and uses the income to support her entire family. She knows very well the techniques of stitching. Her regular customers are her neighbors and the local community.

Ms. Balqees earns enough to lead a decent life. However, due to lack of availability of funds she is unable to meet the daily demands of her customers. For this reason, she contacted Kashf Foundation and applied for a loan of PKR 20,000. She intends to use this loan amount to buy raw material including cloth and threads of different colors with packs of zippers and button. These materials will create a means of increasing revenues so that she may be able to generate a healthier source of income.
