Agogomo Star Group's story

Agogomo Star is a group of 10 farmers in Teso District represented by Quinto. The group has 8 women and 2 men. Quinto is on the right of the photo with his hand raised. Farming inputs will be delivered to him on credit consisting of the necessary materials to plant ½ acre of millet, sweet potato and sorghum. Quinto is a new One Acre Fund farmer and is excited for the 2013 Long Rains season. He joined One Acre Fund in order to gain access to hybrid seed and fertilizer and because One Acre fund gives the best education before planting.

Quinto managed to harvest 1 bag of maize on 1/2 acre of land last year. As a One Acre Fund farmer, he hopes to harvest even more! He plans to use the money that he earns from his next harvest to save for the future. For the 2013 Long Rains season, Quinto’s group members will take input loans of ½ acre each. In total, this group will receive input loans for use on 5 acres of land.
