A loan of $1,500 helped a member to pay for eucalyptus seedlings, fertilizer, training and plantation maintenance support for his tree farm.

Luwali's Group's story

Luwali is a 45-year-old dryland farmer and the father of five children. His wife is also a farmer, but their agricultural endeavors do not earn enough money to fulfill the family's needs. Luwali is joining the KOMAZA microforestry program because he heard from other KOMAZA farmers that "KOMAZA will uplift the life standard of the farmers." With the profits from his tree farm, Luwali plans to educate his children and start additional businesses. He intends to purchase an ox for plowing, and goats which will make him money from selling manure.
