Richard's Group's story

Richard is a 39-year-old father of six children, and is a businessman. He keeps poultry, and grows maize, cowpeas and cassava. Richard's chickens are affected by diseases and he lacks the capital to purchase medicine.

He is joining the KOMAZA microforestry program so that he can use the profits from his tree farm to dig a borehole for a constant water supply and build a home for his family.

Richard says about KOMAZA, "It is an organization that is working with the community and they are truthful. My kids can have an opportunity to get the best education, and I will have money to invest."

Also pictured with the group of five is Maju, who is already a KOMAZA-Kiva farmer with another group.

In this group: Richard, Hamilton, Johnson, Nzije, Rophus
