Eddie and his wife, Eileen, always knew that they wanted to start their own business to provide for their family and achieve their dreams. So while Eddie worked full time to support their two children, Eileen began learning about online sales and became successful selling women’s, men’s and babies' clothing items online.
As their online business began to grow, Eddie started to get more involved while maintaining a full-time work schedule. Though he worked long days as an outreach coordinator to at-risk youth, it was important to Eddie to support his wife’s entrepreneurial aspirations.
What sets their business apart is their commitment to creating an experience for customers that is genuine and inviting. Eddie’s previous career as a financial consultant taught him the importance of careful and smart shopping, and he hopes that his business will enable customers to buy quality, fashionable clothing at smart and savvy prices.
Today, Eddie and Eileen are ready to open a storefront, and they are now putting their savings towards opening their new store, Eileen’s Boutique. They have already chosen a location and hope to make a positive impact on the community and the local economy.
With a loan from Kiva, Eddie and Eileen will be able to create an inviting and warm space for their customers. The loan will be used to purchase merchandise and necessary display cases and lighting for their new storefront. Eddie and his wife hope to one day expand and open more boutiques to spread their message of genuine service and financial sustainability. They are also committed to using their business to provide charitable support to homeless pre-teens.
