Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $275 helped to buy fertilizer and to provide the necessary care to her farm.

Exi Maritza's story

Exi Maritz, age 28, is married and has two children. She lives in the Taulabe municipality in Comayagua.

She has been growing coffee for three years, and she sells it at the local market. The price of this product is profitable, and from this she has been able to get income in order to help her family.

She is requesting her third loan for 5,000 lempiras. She will use it to buy fertilizer and to provide the necessary care to her farm.

She hopes to improve her crops and to offer a quality product to her customers. Her goal is to continue getting income in order to help her children.
