A loan of $625 helped to buy manure and fertilizer, and to cover costs associated with weeding and sowing his coffee crops.

Jose Maria's story

Jose María is 37 years old and lives with his partner. The couple have four children and live in a small village in Siguatepeque. José María has always been a coffee farmer. He has been in this line of work for approximately 20 years. He sells his dried, unhulled coffee beans to middlemen in his area. He will use the 12,000 lempira loan he has requested to buy fertilizers, and cover the costs associated with weeding and sowing his coffee. This loan will help him to better tend to his crops and enjoy a higher yield. His plan is to achieve a better standard of living for his family.
