Faida Farmers Group's story

One Acre Fund’s Faida Farmers is a group of twelve farmers, ten women and two men, in Kakamega North District and is headed by Caleb. He seen on the right with his hand raised, while the field officer is at the left. Enough seed and equipment to farm half an acre of sweet potato, millet and sorghum will be given to each farmer on credit so that together the group will receive enough supplies to farm six acres in all.

Caleb joined One Acre Fund during the Long Rains 2010 season and is now enrolling for Long Rains 2013. He joined the fund so that he could gain access to hybrid seed and fertilizer at the best prices. He described his harvest as good last and believes he can have an even better one this year.

Cleophas hopes that his profits from the 2013 Long Rains season can be used to grow enough food for the family, send his children to school and repair his home.
