Carolyne is a member of Wekhalilikha Group, in Chwele District. The group is comprised of 14 One Acre Fund farmers, 12 women and 2 men. Carolyne is standing on the right side of the picture, with her hand raised. She is receiving an agricultural input loan for ½ acre of sweet potato, millet, and sorghum cultivation. Carolyne first enrolled with One Acre Fund during the 2010 Long Rains and is now preparing to be a One Acre Fund farmer during the 2013 Long Rains season. Carolyne joined One Acre Fund in order to gain access to the best input prices for hybrid seed and fertilizer.

Carolyne described her harvest as good last year, but she believes she can have an even better one this year. She plans to use the money that she earns from her next harvest to send her children to school and to save for the future. For the 2013 Long Rains season, Wekhalilikha Group members will take input loans of ½ acre, each. In total, this group will receive input loans for use on seven acres of land.
