Mbanacho Group's story

Richard’s group has 11 farmers and is located in the Chwele District. He is pictured on the right of Mbanacho Group with his hand raised among the six men and five women of his group. Richard will receive input loans to help plant ½ an acre with sorghum and millet. He joined One Acre Fund during the Long Rains 2010, and is now enrolling in the Long Rains 2013 season. Richard joined One Acre Fund to gain access to hybrid seed and fertilizer and he will use his increased profits to send his children to school.

Richard described his harvest as good last year, but believes he can have an even better one this year. He hopes that his profits from the 2013 Long Rains season can be used to send his children to school and save for the future. For the 2013 Long Rains season, Mbanacho Group members will take input loans of ½ acre each. In total, this group will receive input loans for use on 5 1/2 acres of land.
