Sylvano’s group has 15 farmers and is located in Kakamega North District. Sylvano is pictured on the right of Namwoki Self Help Group with his hand raised. Sylvano is pictured amongst the 7 men and 8 women of his group. He will receive input loans capable of planting ½ an acre with sorghum, millet and sweet potato. The 2013 Long Rains season will be Sylvano’s first season with One Acre Fund. He joined this year in order to grow enough food for his family and to generate enough profits to send his children to school.

Sylvano managed to harvest 10 bags of maize on 2 acres of land last year. As a One Acre Fund farmer, he hopes to harvest even more! He plans to use the money that he earns from his next harvest to send his children to school and perhaps invest in another business. For the 2013 Long Rains season, Sylvano’s group members will take input loans of ½ acre each. In total, this group will receive input loans for use on 7 1/2 acres of land.
