Sitabicha Group's story

Eunice’s group has seven farmers and is located in Chwele District. Eunice is pictured on the right of Sitabicha Group with her hand raised. She is pictured amongst the two men and five women of her group. She will receive input loans to plant ½ an acre with sorghum, millet, and sweet potato. Eunice joined One Acre Fund during the long rains of 2011, and she is now enrolling in the long rains 2013 season. She joined One Acre Fund so that she could grow enough food for her family and use the increased profits to send her children to school.

Eunice described her harvest as good last year, but believes she can have an even better one this year. She plans to use the money that she earns from her next harvest to send her children to school and repair her home. During the 2013 long rains season, each group member will receive ½ an acre of agricultural inputs on credit. Eunice’s group will receive 3.5 acres worth of inputs on credit.
