Martha Beatriz's story

Martha, age 30, is a single mother. She lives with her family in the Guaranda canton in the Bolívar province.

The Mushuc Pakari communal bank, which is 40 minutes from the office, is comprised of ten members, and they are farmers.

Martha sells potatoes and cheese. She devotes herself to growing potatoes, beans, oats and to cheese. She also raises animals like cows and pigs.

She will use the loan to buy fertilizers, vaccine for the pigs, and rice bran. The loan that is granted by the cooperative will improve the livestock.

She makes her purchases in the Guaranda canton. Her dream is to have her own house.

The challenges she faces are to be successful with the crops in order to have better income.

She likes to spend her free time with her family.
