A loan of $600 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Luz's story

34-year-old Luz is a courageous single mother who has brought up three children. She now lives alone with Rocío, her youngest daughter. They live together in a house that she bought some years ago.

Luz helped her mom to sell soups in a specially equipped space in their house since she was a little girl. That is where she learned everything she needed to know about the business. When her mom died, she kept the business running. In addition, she also raises animals and makes handicrafts called 'damasitas' (little wooden dolls for children). However, in spite of all the businesses she owns, her main work is farming. She grows corn, potatoes and other crops on land that she inherited from her parents. Over the years she has persevered in her work and every year she makes good profits.

Luz will invest 1,500 soles in buying some organic fertilizer with which to feed her crops. She is grateful for the financial support as it allows her to achieve her goals. For her part, she pledges to make her loan repayments on time.
