A loan of $500 helped to invest in the purchase of wood, aluminum plates, and sandpaper in order to continue production of his carvings.

Robert's story

Robert is an artisan from Ghana who specializes in designing hand-carved African masks. He would like to invest in the purchase of wood, aluminum plates, and sandpaper in order to continue production.

Robert has been selling through NOVICA since 2000. This is his story:

"I left my brother's workshop to start on my own. Presently, I work along with expert artists, all designers and carvers. I focus on mask design and we work with local Ghanaian woods. I love my art and I hope to produce more interesting designs for my customers."

"It is wonderful to have people like you, supporting artisans you do not know, so we can grow our business and provide for our families. I am very grateful to you all for this microcredit."
