Gawu's story

Gawu is 29 years old and is married with six children between the ages of 11 months and 14 years. She lives in Kakata, the capital city of Margibi County, which has the highest number of rubber plantations in Liberia. For the past ten years, Gawu has been selling rice, oil, and charcoal in the local market. She started her business with money given to her by her sister and she learned her trade from friends. Gawu works nine hours each day.

Gawu is requesting a loan to purchase more rice, oil, and charcoal for her business. In the future, she hopes to build a house.
