Kakata, Liberia / Food Market

A loan of $425 helped to purchase more vita water, rice, pepper, oil, soap, and onions for her business.

Hawa's story

Hawa is 37 years old and lives in Kakata, the capital city of Margibi County, which has a plantation with the highest production of rubber in Liberia. She is married with three children between 13 and 22 years old, only one of whom lives at home. All of them attend school.

For two years now she has been selling salt, vita water, rice, pepper, oil, soap, and onions in the local market. She started this business, which was given to her by her mother, and learned this trade from her friends. She spends nine hours a day on her business.

Hawa is requesting a loan to purchase more vita water, rice, pepper, oil, soap, and onions for her business. She hopes to build a house.
