A loan of $4,400 helped a member to buy plastic and aluminum for resale.

Mujeres Luchadoras Group's story

There are 19 women in this group, all of whom are enterprising fighters who want to get ahead and help their families. They are in their fifth loan cycle and they want to reach the highest level of the communal bank program.

Heliodora is a part of this group. She tells us that her business is recycling all sorts of products, such as cardboard, aluminum, plastic, and other materials that she collects on foot every day starting very early. She then sells them, which provides her with an income that helps her support her family. She also buys some materials and then resells them. Heliodora is very proud of what she does, as it is decent, honest work.

She is asking for this loan to buy plastics and aluminum, which she will resell for a little more profit.

In this group: Mercedes, Lilian, Heliodora, Delfina, Luz, Maria, Maria, Liliana, Angelica, Ruth, Nancy, Celsa, Basilia, Magdalena, Virginia, Zulma, Janette, Erika, Katya
