A loan of $750 helped to purchase rice, sugar, flour, corn, oil, condiments, soft drinks, candy and other food items to stock her general store.

Amada Pastora's story

Amanda is known in her neighborhood as the beloved matron of the town of Estelí. She is the mother to three grown children, and she lives with her husband and her granddaughter. Through starting her own general store, Amanda has been able to gain financial security and independence for her family. Her husband was paralyzed in an accident, and her family has had to start a new chapter with Amanda shouldering all the financial responsibility. She is very happy with her business as well as its location, since it is along the main road that all of the employees from the nearby tobacco factory travel to and from work each day.

Amanda's future goals are to grow and expand her business and to improve the space of her home that is dedicated to the store. She hopes the changes she makes will in turn provide a higher quality experience and service to her clients. Amanda is very grateful for this opportunity, and she plans to use the support from this loan to purchase merchandise to stock her general store, including: rice, sugar, flour, corn, oil, condiments, soft drinks, candy, etc.
