A loan of $600 helped buy soft drinks, fruit, sugar etc.

Elizabeth's story

34-year old Elizabeth is married to Marco; they have two children, Vivian aged 14 and Marco aged 7. They live comfortably in a house of their own. Elizabeth sells soft drinks, popsicles, ice, and frozen drinks and uses a freezer for this activity. She sells to friends, family, and other occasional customers. She’s had this job for five years; sometimes her daughter helps out and sometimes she works alone.

Elizabeth also has two mototaxis which she rents out for a fixed amount. She enjoys her work because she has enough free time to look after her children whom she loves very much. They are the reason she wants to get ahead. She is content with the income she receives. Elizabeth plans to continue working as she is happy with the money she earns as it gives her the independence she needs.

She is now seeking a loan of S/. 1500 to buy soft drinks of different sizes and flavours. She will also use the money to buy the ingredients necessary to make popsicles such as sugar, milk, bags, and fruit.

Elizabeth is happy in the knowledge that she has financial support to grow her business. She promises to make the repayments punctually.
