A loan of $600 helped to buy fresh fish such as palometa and catfish.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth is 40 years old and married to Juan, who works in transportation. She lives with him and their two children, ages 14 and 9. Elizabeth sells fresh fish and plantains from a stall attached to the front of her home. She begins waiting on her customers very early in the morning.

For nine years Elizabeth has worked at this business on her own and with a lot of enthusiasm. Fortunately, she says she does well because she manages to sell everything she offers for sale, and she likes the work because it gives her a source of income and the peace of mind her family needs. She is very eager to expand her business and improve the structure of her small stall. She also hopes to buy a motorcycle taxi, which she would like to rent out to generate more income.

Elizabeth is requesting this loan of 1500 PEN to by fresh fish such as palometa [a silver freshwater fish] and catfish, both of which are in high demand at this time of year. She says she is happy to know she has financial support that will allow her to move ahead with her business.
