Murad's story

Murad is 53 years old, married, and has two children - a 21-year-old daughter and an 18-year-old son. His daughter goes to university and his son goes to college. Murad's daughter wants to become a teacher and he wants his son to go into business. His wife stays at home, so he is the only one making an income. Murad is an IDP (Internally Displaced Person) from Fuzuli city. Now he lives in the Fuzuli region, which is close to the occupied border.

This is Murad's second loan from Kiva. Murad started his business 8 years ago to sell drinks and sweets. Now he needs a 2000 AZN (Azerbaijan New Manat) loan to buy lemonade, juices and other drinks, wafers, cookies, cupcakes, etc. to sell to local bazaar markets wholesale. He wants to use the money from his new business for his wife because she is ill.

Murad is thankful to Komak and Kiva for supporting him again.
