A loan of $4,400 helped a member to buy more salon equipment.

Loyola Group's story

Suraiya, who is in her early 30s, is married with three children, two boys and one girl, and all of them go to school. She has been running a beauty salon since 1992. She works from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be her 10th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to restock the missing items in the salon, to improve the salon interior by painting and adding more mirrors and has paid back all her loans successfully. She used the profit to buy a mattress and bed, to pay school fees and to start building her own house. She will use this loan to buy more salon equipment. Her dream is to one day be able to own a car of her own.

Suraiya will use this loan with her loan group "Loyola", with 17 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.

In this group: Suraiya, Yona, Sihaba, Mwajuma, Dafrosa, Ramadhani, Almas, Getruda, Rukia, Mwajuma, Rose, Rukia, Mwanairiki, Mariam, Blandina, Fikiri, Onester
