Emakina S.h.g Group's story

Emakina S.h.g Group is a group of 13 farmers in Teso District, represented by Richard. The group has six women and seven men. Richard is on the right of the photo, with his hand raised.

Farming inputs will be delivered to him on credit, consisting of the necessary materials to plant 0.5 acres of sweet potato, millet, and sorghum. Richard is a new One Acre Fund farmer and is excited for the 2013 Long Rains season. He joined One Acre Fund in order to gain access to hybrid seed, fertilizer, and the best input prices.

Richard thought his harvest last year was poor. He hopes that, as a One Acre Fund farmer, he can have an excellent harvest. He plans on using future profits from the harvest to send his children to school and to repair his home.

During the 2013 Long Rains season, each group member will receive on credit 0.5 acres of agricultural inputs. In total, Emakina S.h.g Group will receive 6.5 acres worth of inputs.
