A loan of $300 helped to buy products such as sausages, sardines, rice, sugar, juices etc.

Jessenia Argentina's story

Jessenia has a great variety of products which she displays on a shelf for her customers. She is a humble shop-keeper from Managua. She has a partner and 2 children. She is 32 years old and a very hard-working woman, having fought to help her family get ahead. She is a shopkeeper and has been earning her living from a general store for 6 years. She only went to school up until the first year of secondary school because of financial problems which meant that she was unable to finish her studies.

Jessenia started the business with the money she obtained as redundancy pay, since she previously worked for a company. At the age of 26 she decided to open a small general store with the money she obtained selling ice-cream, fruit drinks, soft drinks and "Chiveria" dairy products.

Jessenia then decided to start-up a second business being a general store in her house, to obtain extra income and help with the household expenses. She has been moving the business forward eith the help of her partner and children.

Jessenia is asking for a loan to buy products such as sausages, sardines, rice, sugar, juices etc. She estimates that this loan will help her to buy all of the merchandise she needs to supply her grocery store with the products in highest demand by her customers. Her future plans are to keep her business steady to meet the needs of her customers and in this way obtain a better income.
