Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Kaze Group's story

Lazard is part of the group Kaze and is one of the victims of the fire at the Bujumbura Central Market. He has been a client of Turame for three years. He lives in Bujumbura and is married to Grâce. Together they have seven children, from 15 to 30 years old, of whom four are students.

He used to do commerce in clothing at the Bujumbura Central Market. In the fire, he lost all of his capital when he had plans to build a house.

With the KIVA loan he is obtaining, he will rebuild his capital by purchasing clothing to resell, so as to earn his living.

In this group: Lasard, Josette, Suzanne, Evariste, Fidèle, Léa, Gabriel, Emmanuel*
