A loan of $500 helped to buy chairs and tables.

Francisco's story

Francisco worked as a public servant for 35 years. He is currently retired however he has always been a very active person and considered himself still very productive. This is how, seven years ago, he decided to start his own tacos al vapor [steamed tacos] business which is a typical food in the city of Monterrey. He is married with three grown children. His eighteen year old granddaughter tends to help him with the business. This gives him much joy and satisfaction since he considers this help a term of endearment. He sells the tacos mainly in the mornings (between 7am-12pm) therefore he wakes up at 4am to prepare, as he says, "the best tacos al vapor in Monterrey" He plans on investing his loan in chairs and tables in order to give a better service to his clients, since demand has increased. Franciscos dream is to have a big taco restaurant in the middle of the city and that he becomes known for his delicious tacos. He can then leave this as inheritance for his children and grandchildren for them to manage.
