Binta's story

This is 51-year-old Binta. She is a widow and has three children, aged 22, 19 and 11. She has one additional dependent who lives with her because he is her relative. In 1994, Binta established her foodstuff, beverages and drinks business. She began her business by selling drinks to passengers traveling to Freetown. Working seven days a week and 10 hours a day, she earns about 1,837,000 Sierra Leone Leones (SLL) every month from this business. She would like a loan in the amount of SLL 5,000,000. Binta has already received and successfully repaid four loans, and now requires a new loan in order to purchase soft drinks, mayonnaise, ovaltine and sugar. In the future, Binta plans to build a house and educate her children to university level. She thanks you for your support.
