A loan of $1,175 helped to maintain, fertilize, and harvest his cassava crop.

Betman's story

Betman is 36 years old, single, and lives in the city of Pucallpa. He is kind, hardworking and enthusiastic, with a strong desire to get ahead. Regrettably, although he would have liked very much to study to become a police officer, he was not able to because of a lack of resources and needing to work from a young age.

In his free time Betman likes to cook a delicious Seco de Res [a cilantro beef stew] to share with his family.

On his own initiative and with a lot of effort and determination, Betman works in agriculture. He has a small crop of cassava for which he must do a number of jobs in the field. Betman works every day for approximately 10 hours, and he thinks he does well because he is experienced and treats others with kindness.

Betman is very grateful to Kiva lenders, because thanks to their support he will be able to maintain, fertilize and harvest his crop. In this way, he can ensure that he obtains a good harvest and good sales. Betman says he will continue to work and strive for his greatest dream, which is to increase the size and variety of his harvests.
