Libia Lorena's story

Libia is 22 years old and lives with her parents and daughter in the city of Cañete in the district of Imperial. Libia says she loves her daughter and that her daughter is the most important thing in her life. Libia is very kind, hardworking and enthusiastic. She dedicates all of her efforts to helping her daughter get ahead, as Libia is both father and mother to her. Sadly, Libia has not been able to study a professional career – because of a lack of resources and needing to work – but she would have liked to. On her own initiative and with a lot of effort and dedication, Libia works her own small business of raising and selling ducks. She also works on the weekends as a field laborer for an agricultural holding in her city. She works every day for approximately 10 hours. She believes that things are going well for her because she is responsible and treats others with kindness. Libia is very grateful to Kiva lenders because it is thanks to their help that she will be able to buy a larger quantity and variety of ducks. These will help her improve the breed of her ducks and she will be able to sell them at a better price. Libia plans to continue working hard and striving for her greatest dream, which is to have her own house.
