A loan of $1,025 helped to buy agricultural supplies for his coffee plantation and pay for labor.

Alexis's story

Alexis is 58 years old, married and lives with his children and wife, who are his priority in life. With the loan, Alexis wants to buy fertilizers and fungicides, and pay for the labor he needs for his coffee plantations. He also wants to buy “almáciga” plants [a species of the pistachio tree] to replant, increase the density of plants in his land and take advantage of the good soil properties, the weather and other conditions that are beneficial for his coffee plants. With these improvements to his plantation, he hopes to receive more profits and improve his family’s life, be able to invest more in his plants and reach some of his goals.

This is his first loan with FUDECOSUR. He had not had other loans before with state-run banks, but FUDECOSUR has granted him a loan more easily and at a much lower interest rate.
