Mayela's story

59-year-old Mayela is a determined woman. She lives in the company of her husband, with whom she is raising 3 children in their house bought 10 years ago. She has 9 years of experience selling food in a spot located in the central market of their zone. All day, she looks after her demanding customers who know the quality of her products. On occasion her husband or her eldest daughter help her, but generally she is the sole responsible for the business. She affirms that it pleases her to look after her business since she likes to talk with other people. In addition, this business has been beneficial due to the financial resources that it generates. This is why she desires to continue in this business and is looking to grow and have a wholesale store with basic home products. Mayela will invest the 3500 new Peruvian soles in the purchase of rice, sugar, vegetable soups and beans, which will serve to increase the available merchandise in her business. She is also very happy to have some financial support, since she has demonstrated that she is responsible with her payments.
