Saumu's Group's story

Saumu is a thirty-eight-year-old mother of five children and is a businesswoman. She bakes cakes to earn money for her family. However, her income is irregular due to low demand.

When asked why she is joining the KOMAZA microforestry program, Saumu says, "Since my neighbors are doing this project, and what I can see inspired me to join. The trees will improve my life in that it will help me educate my children."

In addition to sending her children to school, Saumu also hopes to use the profits from her tree farm to start a business that will earn her a daily income.
