A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase grains.

Ali's story

Mr. Ali is a 39-years old married man and a father with three children. He resides with his wife and children at his father's house in the Dialanicoro district of Bougouni. Not having had formal schooling, he soon started revenue-generating businesses.

For years, Mr. Ali was a livestock merchant. He had also tried buying and selling spare parts without success. This is why he decided to follow his friend in order to learn about selling grains. With over six years of experience, he is mastering this business.

To expand his enterprise he decided to take out a Soro Yiriwaso loan to purchase a half-tonne of corn and 2 tonnes of rice produced locally.

He gets his supplies in Bougouni and in surrounding villages, but also in Wassoulou, and then he resells the goods at the Bougouni market, and some in Yanfolila. His customer base is mixed.

He is on his fourth loan with Soro Yiriwaso. All the previous loans were paid back correctly. With this loan, he envisions making a monthly profit of 85,000 francs CFA that will be used to cover his expenses, pay the loan interest, and expand his enterprise.
