Mary's Group's story

Mary is a forty-nine year old widow and mother of five. She farms maize, cowpeas and green peas. Her major challenge with her farming is the pests that frequently destroy her crops, and without capital, she is unable to purchase pesticides. With the income from her KOMAZA trees she hopes to buy a dairy cow, some goats, install a water tank and start a grocery store.
