A loan of $2,475 helped a member to buy animal feed and animals to sell.

La Esperanza Group's story

The committee "La Esperanza" [The Hope] was formed through the union of several neighbors in the city of Santani.

All of the members make a living raising animals and in agriculture. During weekends they organize activities such as selling "sopa paraguaya" [a traditional spongy cake similar to cornbread] and producing starch [similar to tapioca flour]. They sell the products in their community to obtain funds to make their payments and in this form help each other.

Marina, the president, is requesting this loan to be able to invest in the purchase of animal feed and animals to sell, and so continue working to continue giving her family all they need. She is grateful for the opportunity that she and her group are receiving since it will be very helpful for their growth.

In this group: Marina, Eva, Mariana, Silvia, Alejandrina, Zulma, Luz, Nicolaza, Sebastiana, Celestina, Mariza*, Gissenia*
