A loan of $250 helped to buy creams, perfume, clothing, cooking items and shoes.

Erling Del Carmen's story

Erling is a humble 24 year old woman. She is the mother of 2 little girls, aged 5 and 2. She lives in one of the poorest neighborhoods of Estelí and sells beauty products.

She started this business when she was 19, working with her sister in law. Later she saw that it was a good business and produced earnings, so she decided to do it on her own. This allowed her to have income to contribute to the support of the family. Her husband works washing cars at a gas station and what he earns pays for the food and schooling for their oldest daughter.

She is asking for this loan to be able to buy creams, perfumes, clothing, cooking items and shoes, all from the same line that she sells. She is happy for the opportunity that we are giving her for this. She thinks it will help her a lot because she will have more inventory to show her customers her products and increase her income. One of her main goals is to improve the infrastructure of her humble home, since the roof and the wood are deteriorating and she wants to give her daughters a dignified life.
