A loan of $600 helped to buy food products like rice, sugar, and eggs.

Maximina's story

Maximina, 45, is a single mother who lives with her only son, whom she lovingly cares for, in a wood house she built several years ago. She learned to work in the fields at a young age, but now she has a small grocery store in her neighborhood. Sales are very good because there is a lot of trade near her house. "I am the only doing this, so I have a lot of customers," she says.

She wants to stock more grocery items in her store and take advantage of the traffic to increase her income. This is her third loan cycle with Kiva, and she is hoping for everyone's support once again. She appreciates the help she receives and knows she must make her payments on time if she wants to succeed. Maximina will use the S/. 1500 soles to buy food products like rice, sugar, eggs, and non-perishables to stock her store.
