A loan of $400 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Jocelinda's story

26-year-old Jocelinda is an ambitious and determined woman. She lives with her parents and her 22-year-old sister Lisbet in their own home. Jocelinda works in agriculture, helping her parents cultivate peas, potatoes and vegetables. She supervises the crops and negotiates the prices in the central market of their city, sending vegetables to the capital. What Jocelinda most likes is helping her family, since her biggest desire is to see her sister fulfilled and her parents peaceful, seeing as they are older and do not have the same strength as before. Now she wants to buy her own land, and in this way be able to grow larger quantities of vegetables and meet the demand for them. In addition, she would like to hire local workers in order for them to provide her a constant support, taking good care and improving her crops. This is her fourth loan with Kiva, and she feels grateful for the financial support that she receives. In addition, she promises to be punctual in making her loan payments. Jocelinda will invest the 1000 new Peruvian soles in the purchase of organic fertilizer to nourish her crops.
