A loan of $775 helped to purchase organic fertilizer.

Miriam's story

Miriam, 36 years old, is married to Omar and has two children, with whom she lives in a home constructed of rustic materials that she bought six years ago.

From the early hours of the day until the last ray of sunlight, Miriam works tirelessly in the cultivation of her spinach, pea, lettuce, and other vegetable crops. Additionally, she varies her planting with the sowing of potatoes since the land is suitable for its growth. Her land is her own, so she receives a higher income from the sale of her food in the city. “There are days when I sell from my home,” she affirms.

Now, she wants to improve her crops and invest in a greater production of food. This is her third loan from Kiva, and she hopes to receive the financial support necessary to complete her objectives. In addition, she promises to be punctual with her payments. Miriam will invest the .2000 Soles in the purchase of organic fertilizer to nourish her vegetable crops.
