Guadalupe's story

Guadalupe is a humble 63 year old merchant. She lives in the city of León. She is married and has 6 children, all of whom are grown. She studied to be a teacher but she also has has a business selling sandals. When she stopped teaching she became a merchant full time but one day a television program caught her attention where they taught crafts, especially making pinatas. She learned and decided to start this business with different shapes, styles and sizes. She has had this business for 7 years. She distributes her merchandise in markets, by order and from her house. The use of different colors, characters and sizes are things that her customers look for, who are mainly children. For that reason, she needs raw materials to work. She requires crepe paper, cardboard, glue, clay pots, wire, craft foam, masks, plastic dolls, cord, silicon, etc. One of her projects is to buy a sewing machine to make table cloths, curtains, pillows, and bedspreads to offer variety to her customers.
