A loan of $650 helped to buy wood, plywood, paint, solvents, nails, and accessories.

Javier's story

Wood, plywood, paint, solvents, nails, and accessories are what Javier plans to buy with the Kiva credit which he is applying for. It is the first funding he has sought with the Foundation of Mario Santo Domingo which he requires to be able to produce living room, dining room, and bedroom sets, as well as doors and closets. Javier is a married man and father of three grown children that organized his own cabinet-making workshop in the patio of his home. This also functions as a small storeroom for his wife's miscellaneous items. He learned this cabinetry work when he was very young, as his father also did woodworking. Currently, he has no employees, but in the past he managed to have up to 20 and managed contracts for various builds. The survival of his business, which is highly competitive, has been thanks to the quality of his work. In his workshop he only stocks the best materials and supplies which ensures that his products have a quality finish and that the image of his business is viewed positively.
