Aissata Nilal

Senegal
Senegal / Cereals

A loan of $200 helped buy grain cereal to resell.

Aissata Nilal's story

Mrs. Aissata Nilal is 74 years old and still active in the retail market sector which she chose as a labor of love. She started at a young age in this business, and has accumulated over 40 years' experience now.

She started with a small sum she withdrew from her savings. For the first time she is requesting a credit loan for 100,000 FCFA to improve her business.

With the loan she will buy cereals such as millet, corn, and peanuts she resells from her house-front: given her advanced age, she can no longer travel distances.

She continues this activity to keep herself busy. With the money she earns she takes care of her personal needs.
