Nasimbo Group's story

Nasimbo is a group of 13 farmers in the Chwele District represented by Maximilla. The group has 9 women and 4 men. Maximilla is on the right of the photo with her hand raised. Farming inputs will be delivered to her on credit consisting of the necessary materials to plant ½ an acre of sweet potato, millet and sorghum. Maximilla joined One Acre Fund during the Long Rains 2012, and is now enrolling in the Long Rains 2013 season. Maximilla joined One Acre Fund so that she can grow enough food for the family and use her increased profits to send her children to school.

Maximilla described her harvest as very good last year, but believes she can have an even better one this year. She hopes that her profits from the 2013 Long Rains season can be used to send her children to school and save for the future. During the 2013 Long Rains season, each group member will receive ½ an acre of agricultural inputs on credit. Maximilla’s group will receive 6.5 acres worth of inputs on credit.
