Trabaja en la agricultura y la pecuaria, produce cebolla, frejol y papa; los comercializa en el mismo lugar donde vive a los comerciantes de la misma población de Mizque. Don Diógenes es una persona muy respetada en su comunidad, por la dedicación a su trabajo y por ser el responsable de la alimentación y la educación de su familia.
